WRAP YOURSELF THE TIMELESS BEAUTY OF DENIM
I love denim for many reasons. It is hardwearing, versatile, and comes in so many colours and textures. It has an unstated beauty that can be dressed up or down. But I think the main reason I love it is because it holds shape. I am a real lover of a dramatic jacket (as you can see) I have a passion for strong silhouettes, and denim has the 'body' to hold the shapes I design.

I AIM TO MAKE THE EVERYDAY SPECIAL!
I create garments with classic lines that have stood the test of time. As a size 16 myself I am a fan of styles that flatter! My jackets are designed to wear with your favourite jeans, and many of my coats mark special events. I have never been believer in 'saving your best clothes for special occasions.' As soon as I buy something I want to wear it. I aim to make the everyday special.

I AM A MAKER OF SLOW FASHION.
The average time to make a jacket is between 8 and 10 hours. The majority of this time is spent on the detailed trims and hand stitching. Last year, I took a course on Wabi Sabi, the Japanese concept of finding beauty in things that are old, worn or tattered, a big part of the Wabi Sabi philosophy is also concerned with not wasting anything! The concept really sparked my imagination when it came to designing clothing. I rarely waste any fabric at all and I often fray, rip and distress my fabrics. This is another reason I love denim so much...it was designed to withstand the most brutal treatment!

I WANT TO MAKE THE COST PER WEAR REALLY LOW!
I use fabrics that are re-cycled (This Philippa Jacket is made from 100% re-cycled denim and feels amazing) up-cycled or fabric headed for landfill (called 'dead stock' in the trade) The textile mountain is obscene and totally in our control. I want to make garments that not only last but are so versatile the cost per wear is really low.

SHAPES THAT FLATTER
I only use three or four styles. These are styles that have proven the most popular over the years. Some are more fitted, some are more relaxed. The Poppy Coat shown above is one of the more relaxed styles with a lovely roomy raglan sleeve I have yet to find a person that does not suit this shape.

100 A YEAR
I make all the jackets myself. No outsourcing of any kind. This means I only make about 100 jackets a year, which means you will be part of a VERY exclusive club when you buy one of my jackets. Also, I do not carry stock,(except for a few samples) making each jacket to order. This means when you place an order I get to work on your jacket straight away. You can expect your jacket to arrive in 7-10 days depending on how busy I am. I will always keep you up to date with progress.

UPCYCLED KANTHA JACKET
I love to make jackets that are made from up-cycyled fabrics. Perhaps my favourite of these jackets is the one above which is made from Kantha Quilts. Kantha stitch is a running stitch that is used to 'quilt' a patchwork of scraps together. These Kantha quilts come from India and are made from vintage silk saris.

I LOVE WAISTCOATS!
Most of my jackets can be made into a waistcoat. If I am honest, waistcoats are my 'go to' in the summer months because they are so easy to just throw on, an take off if we get a summer! If you see a style you like and fancy it in a waistcoat just let me know by sending me an email here.
